Towering Trees of Love

I’m taking it back a few years…

This photo was taken in Cathedral Grove, MacMillan Park on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. You’ll find it on the way to Tofino, but in between Port Alberni and Parksville.

It didn’t matter how much we tried or how wide our hugs were, this tree was never going to feel a full-embraced hug. That’s okay though, because these Douglas Firs have been receiving some loving hugs for the last 800 or so years of their life. That’s right, at LEAST 800 years that these trees have been around. Some of them might have even been longer! There’s no way to explain the feeling of these trees and this forest… It’s magical, but at the same time, you feel like you’re such a small part of the world. Just another ant!

If you plan to stop in Tofino, make sure you don’t miss your stop to take a hike at Cathedral Grove!

Happy Valentine’s! Be Mein?

Happy Valentine’s Day everybody! Today’s that special day to recognize your Spouse or Hubby for how amazing they are! (Shouldn’t you recognize them for how amazing they are every single day, anyways?)

If you don’t have have a special someone, then be sure to spend some quality time with the ones you do love! Ehem… Family and Friends of course!

A few friends of mine here have opted-in to spend time with you on this special day if you’re feeling lonely:

Valentine's Day Leaders!

Valentine’s Day Leaders!

See what I mean? They really are seeking a bit of attention… Okay, perhaps in the wrong way.

Since this is a Travel Blog and I try to encompass my posts around travelling in one way or another, I will apply that ideology to this post. So in that case, we’re going to play a little game and I need your help by submitting your answers!

Looking at the photo I posted above, I would like you to name off each leader (from left to right) and what country they originate from. Bonus points for extended answers giving a brief History on that particular leader.

Please submit your answers by leaving a comment on this post! Please be sure to like the post too if you enjoy this blog!

Happy Valentine’s!
